Quick Quotes

Q. 1-under 70 in the second round. How would you compare that round to the first round of 64?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: It was way less eventful. Didn't hit it very good today, and definitely didn't putt as well. It was a lot of kind of middle of the greens, two-putting a lot, and I did well at least, I birdied all the par-5s and wasn't really in position on one of them. I kind of relied on my short game and hit it all close in there, made some nice birdies. Yeah, just couldn't quite get anything going today.

Q. Is that just a case of playing early yesterday and having quite a long gap and playing late today and just having a completely different feel, or is it something that you've worked out that you might need to go to the range and fix now?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: It's just golf. I still feel like I'm playing pretty well. I do think the pin positions were a little bit tougher today. Some of them were a little bit more tucked, and I just put myself off the tee in not the best positions compared to yesterday, so I couldn't be quite as aggressive, had to kind of hit it middle of the green, and then my putter -- my speed was just bad. I just couldn't quite get myself to hit them hard enough, and definitely missed a few putts because of that. Other than that, I feel like the game is good, and I can easily shoot a 64 again tomorrow.

Q. You're still within touching distance, right in the mix. That's got to be a comfortable feeling after shooting a score that you probably weren't specifically happy with, I guess.

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, the leaderboard is very tight. I think that's kind of one of the positives away from today. I didn't have my best stuff, and I'm still in the tournament. Could have easily shot a couple over par, so now you're pretty far behind.

Yeah, it'll be a fun weekend.
