Q. 15 points. You're currently at solo 6. Talk to me about the day.
VINCE COLEMAN: It was that kind of day. I've been grinding since I found out I was playing, the last two months, and I put a lot of hard work in as far as working on my game. And this is one of the greatest tournaments ever.
I played from 2000 to 2017, 17 straight years, and for the last 10 years I was off. I was able to get back into it. I'm excited to be here. And it shows. I come out and get 15 points today. Could have had more, but I'm happy with that.
Q. So you touched on it, you haven't played here since 2017. So talk to me about why that hiatus was and how you kind of adapted, like, you come right back into it and you're in the top 10?
VINCE COLEMAN: It was hard. They had the transition where out with the old, in with the new. When you don't get the invite, you don't question it, that you didn't do anything wrong, it's just for the fact they had new guys, new wave of guys come in right now. I'm just blessed and honored to be back now, and be a part of it. American Century does a great job putting on this event, and I'm just happy to be back here in Tahoe.
Q. Your best finish here was tenth, 2005.
VINCE COLEMAN: Before Stableford system.
Q. What do you have to do these next few days to better that?
VINCE COLEMAN: To make some putts. Today I lipped out at least three times. Three times. I could have had nine more points. I hit the ball good. I stayed away from double bogeys and kept the ball in the fairway and give yourself a chance to make good shots. I had a problem with the altitude where I was hitting my pitching wedge like a 5-iron today. So it was unbelievable, the yardages, and I just missed a few little tap-in putts. But I'm happy with where I'm playing right now. I go to the range and I go to the putting green right now, and just work on my game and continue to play and hopefully be a better showing tomorrow.
