Quick Quotes

Q. 59 points. Assess your week here and also just your week with your brother and your dad?

STEPH CURRY: Obviously you'd love to have played a little bit better and be in contention. But the memories you create with the week you spend here is awesome. Golf game is in shape, but just too many mistakes in the middle of the round. Start making me chase a little bit. Always good learning experiences. That's what golf is, right?

Q. You started off strong with a couple of birdies and went up-and-down a little bit. How did you maintain your focus through the round today to try and accumulate the points?

STEPH CURRY: We've had a lot of practice today. Things are going well. You kind of hit a couple speed bumps. The competitive mentality is there's always the next shot. Trying to lock back in, create small goals for yourself even if you're not chasing the top. So a lot to be proud of.

Q. Those birdies early and the two birdies late, you think something is going to happen?

STEPH CURRY: One thing, it's rare to compete, especially guys playing well-- you don't have any eagles. Par-5s passed by and 16 had a good chance to get on the green and have a look with the bunker.

Those are the ones you want back, just to have a couple more chances. But the first, what, four holes, I was locked in. My swing's in a good place. Just three competitors out there that played a lot better.

Q. Why is it important to give back to these kids, fans out here to see you?

STEPH CURRY: Same way they scream hard and holler when they watch us play, come out to this tournament and make the environment what it is. It means so much.

Especially being so close here today, a lot of (inaudible) finish up there.

Q. Who won the family belt?

STEPH CURRY: Pops won the family belt this year, which it was very anti-climatic because he played so well the first two days, it was pretty much locked up, he just had to finish the round today. Tally is now my brother has two, my dad has two, and I've got one.

Q. You have to stop giving them so many strokes?

STEPH CURRY: No, I've just got to play better.

Q. Follow up to giving back to the kids. You had a surprise meet-and-greet with a couple of young kids yesterday right here. How much does that mean to you to be able to essentially introduce the game to young boys and girls at this golf tournament when they are here to see their heroes in other sports?

STEPH CURRY: Golf's giving me so much. My dad got me into it when I was 10. I've been playing ever since. Competitive part of it, just the camaraderie, shows you a lot about yourself, the world, meeting new people. Golf can bring a new crowd, a younger crowd, get kids into it and get them on the pipeline of not playing professional, maybe, but more so just making it a part of their lives in a way because I think so much good comes out of it. That's what I've been doing in my own world, and this is kind of what this week means as well.

Q. What's the highlight for you?

STEPH CURRY: All the great hangs at the condo we rented. Hit some good golf shots along the way, but got a good crew that comes with me, and we enjoy it.
