Tre Mann

Press Conference

Q. I know obviously you guys haven't officially started practicing, but with the limited time you've been on the court with some of these returning guys, what's your expectation about where your game fits in with the guys that are coming back on to this roster?

TRE MANN: I think I'm versatile, so I can play either on the ball or off the ball and also I can score and make plays for my teammates, so whatever Coach needs me to do, I think I could do that. Whether that be on the ball or off the ball, making plays or scoring.

Q. It was pretty obvious both at the draft and the press conference after the draft that fashion is kind of one of your lanes that you want to be in. Seems like there's some guys on this roster that are also interested in that off the court. What's that like to be in a room with other guys that are -- that's one of their passions?

TRE MANN: I'm not really too big on fashion, but I kind of gained a little bit of interest since the Draft, working with Neiman Marcus and things like that. It's cool to see how serious he takes it, like it's actually a passion for him. I think that's cool, and he dresses pretty well.

Q. With Shai being the leader on this team, what have your early interactions been with him, and what have you sort of learned about him personally and his game since you've got drafted?

TRE MANN: My interaction has been just seeing each other in the locker room and on the court. He talked to me, made a couple jokes, we laughed a little bit, and on the court I just learned how poised he is, how crafty he is, just seeing him in person. It's a lot different than TV. He looks like he's moving so slow and calm, but when you're guarding him it's different. He's fast, quick, really shifty.

Q. Is that something you're hoping to maybe learn from him, or how would you compare it to your game as far as like he does look like he's moving slow so often and uses those changes of speed to help him. Is that something that you're interested in sort of learning yourself?

TRE MANN: Yeah, for sure. I feel like I have pretty good pace right now, but talking to him and watching him, I could learn some more things that I haven't experienced yet playing in the NBA. I feel like we have like the same kind of game where we can be unique, crafty, like slippery kind of, so just talking to him and finding out how it'll work I think will be good.

Q. What are your general feelings getting ready for your first NBA training camp, your first NBA season. Next Monday you play in your first preseason game. Just your feelings that you're all of a sudden living a dream that you always thought about?

TRE MANN: It's exciting. I'm excited for the first practice, the first game, everything, media day. It's just everything I've been dreaming about since I was two years old, three years old. So it's exciting for me. I'm ready to get started.

Q. Has anything surprised you to this point?

TRE MANN: No, I feel like it was everything I thought it would be, playing with older guys, stronger guys. They know a lot more. Just being around older people -- this is my first time playing with older guys, like you said. Derrick Favors, 30 years old, I've been with guys like my age, but I knew that growing up that everybody was going to be older, so it's everything that I expected.
