Q. You and Jalen both have brothers rising up in the NBA Draft pretty rapidly. How cool is that for you guys to experience already in the NBA? Do you guys ever talk trash on who is the better brother?
OLIVIER SARR: No, not this year. This year I'm letting him have all the fun.
But it's been great. It's been amazing. It's been special to also have Dub having his brother coming up. Just enjoying the journey along with him.
Q. And you got to spend a long time with the Blue last year and the Thunder. You've seen Cam Woods and Mark lead a team. What are some of the similarities between those two coaches?
OLIVIER SARR: They're all about trusting their players and putting confidence in the players, and I think there's great continuity with the Blue and the Thunder. So it's been great.
Q. You spend most of your time here in OKC but also kind of dabbled in Portland and Phoenix for a little bit. Anything about the Thunder franchise that sticks out as different?
OLIVIER SARR: I think being connected, whether it's with the G, and the Thunder, like I said, we're doing a great job here making sure that all the players are getting the attention that they need. It's been great for the development of players, I think, and it's showing.
Q. Olivier, going back to Alex, what do you remember growing up playing with him? What were those one-on-one games like?
OLIVIER SARR: Let's say Alex has always been really, really competitive. Sometimes a little delusional when he was younger, but I still love him.
No, it's been great. Whenever it was he was at camps with all the players and he thought he could actually beat them, and he would get really frustrated when he was actually losing, which is actually like really normal, but he was waiting to win.
It's been great. Great memories. It's a lot of memories that I could talk about, but yeah.
Q. And to see him doing what he's doing right now, what's the most impressive part to you about his game?
OLIVIER SARR: The poise that he has at 18. I think it's impressive to see how ready he is and levelheaded. I think I'm really proud, really proud of him.
Q. Have you had any advice for him? He's obviously been playing for a long time. He's gotten a lot of buzz recently, and this will be the first year he'll be draftable.
OLIVIER SARR: Any advice for him?
Q. Yeah, have you talked to him about the process in general and stuff like that?
OLIVIER SARR: No. Just let him do his stuff. No, I'm playing.
Yeah, I talk to him every day, all the time. Just the buzz is great. The hype is great. That's going to come and go. Just don't want him to get used to that because he's one game away from getting slandered or people pointing mistakes that he's making. So I don't want him to pay attention to that really.
I want him to focus on the player that he wants to be. I think it's a great year to develop. Perth is a great team for him, and he's stepping into a bigger role that he's ever been in.
I just want him to be levelheaded, never too high, never too low. Just keep focusing on his job.
Q. It was asked about playing both levels last year, what are your biggest takeaways, a couple takeaways? But you make the jump to the league, is it the physicality, the speed of the game, or just you know you're never going to get a call?
OLIVIER SARR: It's everything you said at first. The physicality, the speed of the game. The guys are great. I mean, the guys are really good. It's the NBA. Talent is everywhere. Players, you get the best experience in the world. It's just high level competition.
I'd say that's the difference between the G and the Thunder in the NBA.
Q. As a big guy, as Chet was working his way back, getting a little bit of court time, did you get to spend any time with him, be on the court with him, any impressions of him?
OLIVIER SARR: Yeah, really talented. Great skill set for a guy his size, and I think it's going to be interesting. I'm excited for him to get back to playing because that's what he loves to do and that's what we all love to do.
