Q. Being a defensive guy, you got to pick Lu Dort's brain about that end of the floor?
CASON WALLACE: Not yet, but that's definitely something I'm planning on doing as time goes. He's a great defender. I've seen it with my own eyes now. I'll be picking his brain a little bit.
Q. I just moved to Richardson. Any good food stops you recommend?
CASON WALLACE: Have you ever had Wing Bucket?
Q. No.
CASON WALLACE: It's a good wing stop right by Richardson High School.
Q. As a guy who pressures the ball, kind of known for your defense, what does having a guy like Chet behind you mean for a player like you, and how do you expect that to work defensively with you guys?
CASON WALLACE: I feel like it's a great help having Chet at the rim. He blocks shots at a high rate. But me personally, I want to be able to keep my defender away from Chet. If they get to Chet, then I know that he's going to have my back and be there to help.
Q. What were your biggest takeaways from Summer League? Now that you've played at that level of competition and you're moving into camp and playing with better players, what did you take away from that experience?
CASON WALLACE: It was a good experience for me just to get my feet wet and see how a little bit of the NBA is working and what I need to work on and what I do well at now.
Like you said, I shot the ball at a -- I shot it decent, but it's something I still want to work on. But being stronger in the paint is also something that I'm working on.
Q. The Thunder have often used the G-League as a developmental tool for their players. Have you been given any insight as to what your role might be and if you might spend time down there?
CASON WALLACE: I don't know yet. It's pretty early in that process. But just coming in and however the coaches and the organization see fit, that's what I'm willing to do.
Q. You obviously showed a lot of two-way promise at Kentucky, but the college game can be a little bit more limited in some aspects. What aspects of your game were you maybe not able to showcase in college and that you're looking forward to doing in the NBA?
CASON WALLACE: I would say that I would be able to show that I can create my own shot better. Not saying that the coaches or anything limited me to what I could do on the court, but like you said, the spacing might be a little off in college, and in the NBA you have a little bit more room to work with.
I feel like I'm able to show that I can create my own shot better at this level.
