Q. You get the label as a shooter. Especially as your size, it's a great skill to have. Is there anything that you are looking to add into your game?
ALEX DUCAS: Just be an everyday guy. Impact winning any way I could. Be a really good defensive guy, vocal guy. I try to bring as much leadership I can to the group. Just hone down and being the best shooter I can and look forward to bringing that to the team.
Q. Have you had a chance to talk to anybody on the team as a situation about a guy that's going to play with the Blue and with the Thunder and just the organizational synergy of this group?
ALEX DUCAS: I've had a few words from Adam Flagler who is in my position, the same sort of position that I am. Not yet. I'm kind of just taking every day as it comes. I am super excited about the prospect of being both on the Thunder team and Blue team and developing. Any chance I get will be great.
Q. The Thunder have one of the best (indiscernible) in the NBA in elevating and giving their two-way guys an opportunity to earn spots on the team and play. How promising is that for someone in your position?
ALEX DUCAS: It's super exciting. When I kind of got the information I was coming to OKC, I was so excited. I couldn't wait to get here, knowing that they give a lot of opportunities to guys in my position.
So yeah, like you said, it's a perfect place to be for where I'm at, and I'm ready to get into it.
Q. Can you talk about why you didn't play during Summer League with the team?
ALEX DUCAS: I am rehabbing back from injury, and I wasn't really kind of at a point where I was with my injury to play at that time. I kind of wanted to get healthy for training camp.
Q. You talked about the chance to get through that two-way contract and to a full contract with the Thunder. The roster right now looks so stacked. How does that sort of play into your thinking? Hey, the organization gives two-way players an opportunity, but there are just so many guys right now.
ALEX DUCAS: To be honest, I'm excited to be a part of it. I'm excited to come in every day and learn from these guys. Like you said, there's great players and really exciting young players right now. For the most part I'm excited and thankful for the opportunity to be here and learn from those guys and learn under Mark.
You couldn't have said it better. There's a full roster of great players, so I'm just happy to be around them and be a sponge to them each day.
Q. Is there anybody that you would get advice from on the organization?
ALEX DUCAS: Yeah, I had Logan Johnson who was an old teammate at St. Mary's. He played with the Blue last season.
I reached out to him, and I got a feel for the area and the community and what it's going to be like. For the most part it's all a new beginning for me, and I've loved it so far. It's an incredible place, and the community around it supports the team. It's awesome.
