Press Conference

Q. You've been someone who takes pride in doing the little things, maybe sometimes might not go as noticed as other things. But Sam recently said sometimes people don't talk enough about you. From your perspective, what does that mean to hear that, to know that that work is going recognized?

BRANDEN CARLSON: I think it's always great to get a little ego boost like that. But it really is just like the always doing the little things. And it's always just kind of having the mindset of what you do when no one is watching still. And I'm going to be the same whether or not I'm going to get the recognition or don't.

Q. (Indiscernible) when you played, you didn't play scared. Looked like you were able to make some things happen. Am I right by that?

BRANDEN CARLSON: No. I'm never going to go out there and be scared. That's when bad things happen. I'm going to go out and play my game and worst thing worst is you make a little bit of a fool of yourself. But I think this is a game that I love and I've played for many, many years. So it's just kind of natural to go out there and play how you gotta play.

Q. Where do you see yourself fitting in this roster? The starting bigs are pretty deep. But where do you see yourself fitting in?

BRANDEN CARLSON: I gotta do whatever. That's kind of up to Coach how I fit in. But for me I'm going to bring in the same intensity and energy every day to practices and the games and wherever I see how Coach sees fit to play me or whatever, then that's how it is.

Q. What was the offseason like for you? Is been minding your own business for all your life, playing basketball and all of a sudden you wake up an NBA champion. Do people look at you different? Does it affect your life in any way?

BRANDEN CARLSON: Not too much. I got a lot of congratulations. The offseason was good to be able to go home and spend time with friends and family. But I wouldn't say too much has changed. It was a lot of fun when it happened and now it's a new season. So got a lot ahead.

Q. Just curious, what was it like when you got the phone call that the Thunder were bringing you back, especially coming off of last season. You had mark Daigneault talking about the fact that he put you in in the first quarter and you were ready and he saw that months beforehand. Knowing that you'll be back in the organization for another opportunity, how unique is that going into the season?

BRANDEN CARLSON: Yeah, I was super excited. I think it's great to be here from -- obviously last season I came in partially through and I was back and forth on different contracts. So being here from the start of the season, I think just being around the guys, the team, learning from the very beginning. I'm very excited for this opportunity. And what I can take away from being with the team for a full amount of time.
