Q. First off, you're able to have a few of your teammates out in Fort Worth, what was that like for you to have guys out there, and what does that do in terms of helping guys get integrated?
KENRICH WILLIAMS: Yeah, it was good. We had a lot of the guys there, a lot of the staff came. It was kind of get together, bond, get to meet the new guys, the rookies, and you know, pretty much just hoop. Hoop and spend time with each other. We got the job done. So it was fun.
Q. Jared is one of the guys who was out at that, and obviously he's a character off the court, but in terms of his ability to lock in when it's time to get serious, what impresses you about that?
KENRICH WILLIAMS: That dude is like a gamer. When the lights are the brightest, he shows up in a major way. Ultra, ultra confident player. Something that you need in this league. And you know, I think the thing that people don't see is he's a really, really hard worker. He works super hard. He's a gym rat. Always in the gym.
And you know, he's just overall a really good dude.
Q. Kenrich, what was the process like of agreeing to a new contract and being back here?
KENRICH WILLIAMS: It was good. Me and Sam and my agent had a really good dialogue, and you know, I talked to my family and stuff. You know, ultimately, I've said it before, and I don't want to be anywhere else but here.
But yeah, everything worked out, and here I am.
Q. On the flip side, losing a few long-time teammates like Lu and Wiggs and Isaiah, what was it like showing up today and those guys aren't around anymore?
KENRICH WILLIAMS: I mean, it's a different feeling for sure. Especially with like those guys, actually, Lu, Wiggs and Isaiah, you know, three huge kind of components to our team these past several years. You know, helped us win the Championship.
And showing up today definitely feels weird. But super happy for those guys and the opportunity that they are getting with their respective teams.
Q. Throughout your tenure here, you primarily played at the four, small ball five, but with all the centers now getting added to this roster, is there any part of you that prioritized this off-season to work on more perimeter skills to get minutes that way?
KENRICH WILLIAMS: Not really, man. Everything -- like everything just comes natural. So whatever I'm put at, position I'm put in, I'll adapt, whether that's on the wing or playing a big position. I'll adapt.
