Q. What was it like showing up today and not having Lu, Isaiah and Wiggs here?
JAYLIN WILLIAMS: A little different. We are all having fun on Media Day, but we miss them. I'm happy for them. I wish they were here. They are all my homeboys, my friends, my teammates. We went to war together out there on that court. But I'm happy for them, and hope they succeed at the highest level over there.
Q. You were out in Fort Worth with some of your teammates, one of those guys being Jared, who was also, it seems like, everywhere else in summer -- in Canada with Shai, L.A. with Chet. What does it say about a guy who -- obviously you guys can do whatever you want in the summer, but has taken all that time to go work out with his teammates?
JAYLIN WILLIAMS: It just shows how much of a team guy he is. He's willing to put in the extra time and travel just to be around his teammates, develop that chemistry. I mean, I'm not sure what all he did, but it sounds like he did a lot this summer. Just shows how much of a team guy he is, and he's just happy to be a part of it, honestly.
Q. This is a team that already had really good chemistry before he got here, but how special and rare is it to have someone be able to seemingly add to the chemistry coming in the way he did?
JAYLIN WILLIAMS: Yeah, it's amazing. I think from day one, he was already making jokes like he's been on the team for three years. That's the one thing about Jared, he doesn't let -- no matter where he's at or what settings he's in or what team he's on, whatever, he's going to be Jared.
I think when you have a guy that's so confident, his personality, and confident in who he is, what he wants to do, it's easy to fit in because you're not going to change who you are because of who you are around.
I think our front office, Sam, whoever makes the decisions to bring in these guys, bring in all of us, I think they do a great job of bringing in good people. Jared is just another great guy. And our team is full of good guys. Our facility, our organization, is full of good people. They make it super easy.
Q. Throughout your career, we've seen steady growth throughout your game. Last year a big part of it was the three ball of teams having to defend you differently. What are you hoping to add this season?
JAYLIN WILLIAMS: Just continue to grow my strengths. I think that's the best way to get better as a player is to continue to get stronger in your strengths. I want to be a better shooter. I want to be a better defender, better passer. All my strong suits of my game, I want my body to get better. So just continue to get stronger in the areas I'm already strong at.
Q. AC was in here, and he got asked jokingly about A&M football, and he made some jokes about OU. I wanted to ask you, they are playing next week, Arkansas and A&M. Are there going to be any fun bets between you two guys?
JAYLIN WILLIAMS: Yeah, there will be, there has to be. It's an automatic thing (laughing).
