Quick Quotes

Q. Start with the pitch in on 17. Just talk us through that.

HARRY HALL: Yeah, I had just bogeyed 16, and I knew I couldn't afford to drop a shot coming in. I hit a beautiful 5-iron, just the way I wanted to, and it just rolled a little bit over the back.

I've been hitting that chip shot on the practice chipping green all week, like the same spot warming up every day with a 54 into the grain on an upslope. As soon as I saw the lie, I'm like, I've been doing this all week.

Yeah, I hit a perfect shot.

Q. What are your emotions right now going to your first TOUR Championship?

HARRY HALL: Yeah, massive. Really happy. Can't wait to play in the FedExCup next week and hopefully keep continuing to play well.

Q. Your game is obviously in great shape. Do you feel like there's this great momentum going into the season finale next week?

HARRY HALL: Yeah, I need to do a bit of work off the tee. I'm hitting a lot of shots that are good drives, just not fading as much as I like them to. I need to do a bit of work off the tee if I'm going to win next week, and hopefully I can do that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and the practice days and see what happens.

Q. What does this say about the consistency of your season, that you're going to the TOUR Championship?

HARRY HALL: Yeah, I just put it down to my skill set hasn't changed too much. Definitely tee to green I'm swinging it a lot better thanks to Butch. Been working a lot on my mental game. Just doing some work there. I think that's been the consistency for me just in my decision making, not so much my quality of golf shots.

Q. How much does Butch help with the mental side?

HARRY HALL: Yeah, Butch helps -- when I see him in person, and I haven't seen him in person in a few months just because I haven't been home to Vegas, but if he tells you you're swinging it great and you can be one of the best in the world you're going to believe it because he's one of the best coaches in the world.

I've been working with Fanny Sunesson who caddied for Nick Faldo on my mental game really, and we've been working together for the last four or five months, or last three and a half months, and I've put a lot of my decision making and getting a little bit more comfortable on the course down to my work with her.

Q. How did that come about?

HARRY HALL: I met her at THE PLAYERS the few years ago, and I also got to know Nick really well. He invited me up to Montana to hit some balls with him for a day, which was the best experience in the world.

I've tried to relate to Nick a little bit. He won his first major at 30, and I always thought I was a little bit of a slow progressor and just took a step up the ladder every year.

I wanted to learn as much as possible off him, and I think I did that in that day, and he came and watched me at The Open hit some balls for an hour as well at Portrush, so that was awesome. I just met Fanny at THE PLAYERS and we had a chance, and I think I saw her down the line and we started working together.

Q. All this stuff do you kind of take as -- when they're telling you good things about your game, kind of validation that you're doing the right things?

HARRY HALL: Yeah, I think if you have people like that in your team, telling you how good you are and you're on the right path, and I think down the line you're going to believe it, and I think I'm doing that now.
