Q. You are now a winning Presidents Cup captain. Last night you were talking about mistakes that you had made, wishing you had done things better. Still talking about that this morning. How are your emotions now? You've earned this comeback.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, pretty good. You asked me some pretty tough questions this morning.
I think these guys never lost faith. I know what that team room is like. I told the guys last night that funny stuff happens here. Medinah has a history of funny things happening. Sure enough, they went out and played their asses off today. I'm so damn proud of those guys.
I cannot get over what Jackson Koivun did today. I put him in a really tough spot out there. We thought he could handle it. Sure enough, he did. He went out there and looked like the stud we know he's going to be. So damn proud of Jacob Bridgeman getting his first point as a Presidents Cup rookie.
All these guys fought for each other, fought for this country, fought for this team. And one last shout out to Donald Trump, President Trump. He told me I was going to bring some energy today for you guys, you guys need it, and I told him if we did this, he gets all the credit. Thank you, President Trump.
Q. Following up on Jackson Koivun, a lot of people questioned that pick. You said you had a feeling in your gut. Well it paid off what was that feeling?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: The kid is special. He's different. You saw that for a 21-year-old kid to stand up there and hit those last two balls like he did, not many people like that. I've got a team full of them over there but they're very rare to find.
He's a great kid, got a great family. I got to meet his parents this weekend, and they've done a great job raising that young man. I'm so proud of him.
Q. You also mentioned Medinah. You were on the losing side in 2012 as part of that Miracle at Medinah. How much did you channel that energy to try and get the opposite result this time around?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Well, I just told the guys last night, I know what this place does. I've been where that other team is over there. When those pairings came out last night, it was the first time I got them right all week.
Those were my mistakes; I messed up the matchups. I messed up the snake draft this week, and that was the first time I got it right, and those guys were ready to walk through that door for me. I'm just so damn proud of this team.
I'm tired of hearing how these guys aren't close. I'm tired of hearing how we can't play team golf. Guys just proved it right then and there.
