THE MODERATOR: Harry, thanks for joining us, a career best 10 birdies today. Quite an active scorecard. Some comments on the round to start.
HARRY HALL: Yeah, played really nice, really aggressive, putted really good and drove it exactly where I was looking today. If I can clean up a few things that happened, a couple bogeys and the double, if I can clean that up the next few days, it'll hopefully be a really good week.
Q. What was the difference between how you've played here in the past and what made you decide to go with the more aggressive approach?
HARRY HALL: Yeah, I've got so much confidence in the driver. If you have confidence in the driver, then it really makes a big difference. It's quite a tight golf course, so if you can hit a driver straight, then you're obviously gaining a few strokes on the field, and that's exactly what I did.
Q. Is it a new driver?
HARRY HALL: It is.
Q. What driver are you using now?
HARRY HALL: A Ping.
Q. Has driving always been a strong suit of your game?
HARRY HALL: No.
Q. When did you feel like you made a turn in the right direction with your driving?
HARRY HALL: The last few months since working with Butch Harmon. Obviously I'm more confident in my swing and probably delivering it a lot better, and then this new driver matches my shot shape really well, and I'm able to hit a little draw or a little fade whenever I want to.
Q. How did you start working with Butch? He's kind of retired. Did you approach him?
HARRY HALL: Yeah, I approached him, and he reached out to me a few months after and said it would be great to see you. I started working with him, and since then I've played really nice.
Q. What's the biggest tip he's given you that's helped your driving?
HARRY HALL: Just a bit more width and probably hitting one shot most of the time, which is a stock draw now for me. So a combination of those.
Q. What made you decide to reach out to him?
HARRY HALL: I never really had a coach before. I had a few like Phil Rowe at UNLV but he wasn't really a swing coach, more of just a golf coach. I had a few growing up, but not in the last probably 10 years.
I felt like that's what I needed to do to get to the next level.
