Q. Russell, if you can just recap the round. I know you're past champion here. What's it like being in this position heading into the weekend?
RUSSELL HENLEY: Yeah, it's cool being a past champion. Always cool coming back to Hawai'i. Just thinking of some of those fun memories. Had a lot of good tournaments here.
You know, I feel like I'm playing well. One bad swing today. Not bad but just not good -- execution kind of cost me. Played really steady. Felt like I was resilient.
Excited about the weekend.
Q. What kind of trouble did you get in? What did that one swing do for you?
RUSSELL HENLEY: Just made a double, yeah.
Q. Kind of want to ask you how without asking you to relive it. Off the tee?
RUSSELL HENLEY: No, just a bad iron swing. I'm trying to be aggressive and hit it close, and just put myself on the wrong side of the hole.
Q. On Presidents Cup last year, did that do anything for your confidence going forward? Did you play in the fall? RSM maybe?
RUSSELL HENLEY: I played in Albany.
Q. Just being part of that team that you hadn't been part of in a long time.
RUSSELL HENLEY: Yeah, I feel like everybody was so encouraging to me. I felt like they believed in my game and were confident in my ability.
That was just cool to get the nod from your peers, and hear some encouragement from them. At the end of the day it's cool to get cheered on, but when the best players in the world are telling you they like your game and how you play, it feels good.
I love being on the team. I love the team environment. You know, hopefully I'll get to play another one. That was really special.
Q. Do you get more confidence winning a tournament or what you just mentioned, being a part of a team and hearing that from colleagues?
RUSSELL HENLEY: To me, you know, I mean both give a lot of confidence. To me when you make a team it means you played well for a few years usually. To me that consistency, playing well this week in, week out, you know, grinding out weeks you don't have your game and finishing top 25 and all that, those add up. That's what added up to a team for me.
So it's just different, yeah.
