Q. Almost had an albatross. Talk about that. How close?
LEE HODGES: It landed close. It didn't end up very close. I think I had 25 feet for eagle, but it landed six inches from the hole.
Q. That would lead to two questions: How did you hit the fairway?
LEE HODGES: It was out of the bunker.
Q. Nice shot.
LEE HODGES: 6-iron out of the bunker. Just pulled my 3-wood off the tee. Absolutely roped that 6-iron. Couldn't have hit it one yard further. I was actually trying to come up short.
Q. So the greens are leaving pitch marks? You could see it?
LEE HODGES: Yeah, I could see it. Just short right of the hole.
Q. What were you -- I was asking Zach about expectations. Does anyone have them or are they smart enough to know you just go play and see what happens?
LEE HODGES: Yeah, I think at this point we all pretty much are. It definitely feels a little different being back and having six weeks off, but it only takes a couple holes to get in the swing of things and you're right back to doing your job.
Q. Why did you come here instead of waiting for California?
LEE HODGES: Well, I'm not in the elevated events and I haven't played this -- I've taken this one off since my rookie year, so this is only my second time playing this event.
But I hate to say just because I'm not in the elevated events, but that's a lot to do with it, trying to play my way into it.
It's a great place here. This golf course is amazing. You got to hit some good shots. It feels easy but you can quickly become difficult if you're out of position.
Q. So you wouldn't have come over, Kapalua last year?
LEE HODGES: I did not, no.
Q. Who was I asking and that was an interesting answer? Sepp I think. Degree of difficulty? How would you compare the two?
LEE HODGES: This one is way harder.
Q. You wouldn't think that.
LEE HODGES: No, this one is way harder. Probably a thousand yards shorter but far more difficult.
