Quick Quotes

Q. How would you assess your round?

PATRICK FISHBURN: It was pretty good. It was really tough out there. I felt like I got off to a really great start, 31 on the front nine, and as soon as we made the turn there, the conditions got quite a bit harder. As I mentioned, a lot of the wind was hard off the left with pins on the left, so it was a tricky setup. I felt like I had a lot of putts that were drown grain, downwind I probably wasn't quite aggressive enough with, but overall I thought I handled it pretty well.

Q. Any adjustments you had to make mid-round for the wind?

PATRICK FISHBURN: Yeah, just pretty much throughout the bag. It starts to affect the chips and the putts. That's what makes this place tricky is when you have a putt with grain on the greens and then you're trying to factor in the grain and the wind and all those different things. It makes it tricky, makes it tough to make putts. Kind of had a hard time making putts that back side.

Q. You're going to be right in the mix heading into Sunday. How are you feeling about the game and how do you feel going into the final round right in the competition?

PATRICK FISHBURN: I feel really good. It's always a great opportunity to have a chance to win. It's a life-long dream. Been thinking about playing on the PGA TOUR since I was eight years old, winning on the PGA TOUR. It's nothing but a great opportunity. I think today, I handled it pretty well tee to green, just got to make a few more putts.

Q. Is there anything specific about your game that you think works pretty well on this course?

PATRICK FISHBURN: Yeah, I think one of my strengths of my game is being able to hit the ball low and keep it out of the wind. I have a teed-down driver shot that's really good in conditions like this, and being able to sting the 3-iron and let it chase out there, those are probably my strengths with my game. Then just I have been putting it pretty well for the most part throughout the week, just maybe not as good today.

Q. Last year you had a pair of third-place finishes that were your best finishes during the year. What did you learn from those experiences that you can use tomorrow?

PATRICK FISHBURN: Yeah, those are only things you can learn in the moment. So I feel like I was in the last group a handful of times last year, and each time it gets easier. I felt like I managed it pretty well today, especially the front nine, shooting 31. I made the turn in really good shape.

Then the back nine just didn't do anything different or actually hit some great shots that I thought maybe didn't turn out the way I would have liked. Like on 17 I thought I hit a pretty good shot but it got knocked down with the wind. It's tricky when it's blowing like this and it's not consistent. It kind of goes and then stops. That's one of the great challenges of why. That's why it's great.

Q. What's your mindset going into tomorrow?

PATRICK FISHBURN: Just play aggressive. Just continue to play the way I have been. When the opportunity presents itself, play aggressive but still continue to play smart, have good course management and just take what the course gives me. It's a tricky course with the conditions and the firmness. So you've just got to be patient and do the best you can.
