Q. What was working well for you out there today?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: 5-under par in nine holes, everything works good there. I kept it in play, gave myself good chances, made some nice putts. A couple nice par saves, too.
Yeah, five birdies, so it was a special nine.
Q. How was 17 playing today and what was your strategy on the hole?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: Downwind, not the longest, not the trickiest. I was still a little kind of doubtful in terms of how the ball was going to pitch if I flew it all the way to the top, which I did. It bounced a little bit harder than I thought, went all the way back to the back of the green.
Fortunately enough I was watching the streaming this morning and I saw a few guys putt from there. I knew the read, and I hit a good putt, right edge, and made it.
Q. You tied for third here back in 2006. You've basically lived a lifetime since then. What was the biggest difference between that young Camilo Villegas and the Camilo Villegas of today?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: 2006, to be honest there's not too many things I remember from 2006 except I finished third. The golf course has changed, I've changed, and I guess I do have a lot more experience. I've gone through some good battles in life and good moments, bad moments. Back in 2006 I was just a young kid coming out of college, and I guess got nothing to lose.
Q. Do you find yourself playing this course with any degree of caution, or aggressive reckless abandon?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: No, you've got to be cautious here. It's a tricky golf course. You've got to keep it in play. Aggressive, reckless can bring big numbers quick, and you've got to avoid those.
Q. It can bring birdies, too, can't it?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: You're right, but playing conservative can also bring birdies.
Q. What are you most happy with today, what part of your game?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: Trusting the work I did yesterday. I didn't hit it great Monday and Tuesday and had a long session with José over the phone yesterday morning and it felt a little bit better. Came out a little earlier today, tried to work on the same thing. I'm going to try to go hit balls for 15 minutes, try to keep that same feeling that we worked on yesterday, and come back tomorrow.
Q. What did he tell you?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: A little thing on the down swing my club was coming a little bit too much from the top. I was having a few double-crosses, and it just -- it's the game of golf. You just start going one way or the other and you just sometimes have to come back to center.
Q. Isn't he in Singapore?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: He is in Singapore.
Q. What time was this phone call?
CAMILO VILLEGAS: It wasn't bad. It was 9:00 a.m. here, it was 9:00 p.m. there. We worked for a couple hours. He's a very, very hard worker. Very few guys give more golf lessons than José Campra, and he's always available for me, so it's great.
