SAM BURNS: I think we both played pretty solid. It was difficult with the wind. I think we both kind of knew there were going to be some holes won with par, just the nature of this golf course with that wind direction. Yeah, I think overall a solid match. I really enjoyed playing with Scottie out there. I think he's a great competitor. He's a great guy. So we had a good time.
Q. What do you think you did best today?
SAM BURNS: I feel like I just kept myself in it. I think going into the day I was trying not to really give him anything. Made a couple of mistakes here and there, but overall just tried to keep myself in it as much as possible and made some key putts.
Q. How big is it to know that you kind of control your own destiny tomorrow, win and you move on?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, I think it's great. We'll take the same mindset as we did today; just go out there and compete each and every hole, each and every shot and see what happens in the end.
Q. This format can be so interesting sometimes where you have so much kind of going on. Knowing that all you have to do is focus on what you're doing, that has to help a little bit?
SAM BURNS: Right, like you said, there's a lot going on, but at the end of the day I can only control what I do out there, and I just kind of let the other stuff just happen.
Q. How much did playing a little bit there last week help you not just for this week but going forward here into a big part of the season?
SAM BURNS: Sure, I think getting some confidence is obviously important, and playing well last week, I feel like I was able to control my golf ball a lot better and kind of brought that into this week and felt like I've played pretty solid thus far.
Q. What do you think maybe was missing in your game for the last month or so?
SAM BURNS: Just haven't struck it consistently. Haven't had the command that I typically want to have. That's kind of what we've been working on, just getting my golf swing back in form a little bit, and was happy to see that pay off.
