Q. 4-under, nice round. Some comments on your day.
MATT WALLACE: Yeah, really solid day. Early start. Got the best of the greens as well, which was really nice. Wind's picked up, so it was important to strike the ball really well and leave yourself below the hole.
You can get above the hole here and it can be brutal. I had one of those on the 8th hole, but I was out of position off the tee. So, yeah -- 7th hole, sorry.
Tough golf course when you're hitting out of the rough. But if you strike the ball well and hit it from the fairway you can get it a bit.
Q. You mentioned the wind. Compare the conditions from yesterday to today.
MATT WALLACE: Well yesterday afternoon I had a bit of the wind as well. So I think it was a shot harder in the afternoon yesterday. And the wind's stayed up pretty much from the get-go this morning. Let's hope it stays like that so then it's a bit fair.
But, yeah, if you hit the ball really well and leave yourself a good number of putts you can shoot the score that I did today.
Q. How tough was that rough? Was it really grabbing your club when you were in there?
MATT WALLACE: Yeah, I mean I've been fortunate and unfortunate a few of the times where you get some really bad lies and you can't do anything with it and then some of them you can hack it out as hard as you want.
The beauty of the golf course is if you leave it below the hole you've got options to then chip or putt it up. But you can't get any fliers. If you go long of these pins you're in trouble.
