Quick Quotes

Q. Highest point earner, how does it feel?

JASON CARON: It feels, I guess, okay or great. I don't know what the right word is. I just said there's no I in team. So we didn't win.

I just wanted to keep putting the metal to the -- pedal to the metal, whatever it is. I did play well. I did. I'm happy with that.

Last two weeks I really didn't do a lot at home to prep because I wanted my body to be fresh. I knew coming down the stretch I was feeling a little tired, but came out and played well. Had a great partner in Stewart.

The first nine holes I played in the tournament, I didn't play great. I didn't make a birdie. Then I kind of got things moving with the putter and hit it a little better each day. Here we are now. It was great.

Q. Talking about today, the conditions. Obviously you were pretty close coming into this day and it kind of got away from the U.S. Team, but talk a little bit about today.

JASON CARON: Listen, we knew the weather was going to be crappy, but I felt like we had a good team that could win this thing for sure. We weren't out of it. We need to get off to a good start. We had Stewart coming out early, but it sounds like the other teams just really outplayed everybody. They just really played well.

So hat's off to those guys. When they're playing that well. The only thing you can do is say, hey, congrats.

Q. Talk a little bit about the week overall. I know earlier in the week you were saying you were excited to be with these guys, just being here. Talk about what you're taking away from the first time playing here.

JASON CARON: I wish this week wouldn't end. To be honest, it's been so much fun. To be part of such a great event and such a great team.

What can I take away? I guess for me personally it would be like, listen, I can play with all these guys out here. So I'll feel confident going into next year that that's happening. I'd love to be part of a team event like this one again. It really was awesome.

Just everything that went into it with my family being here and friends. Captain Furyk, I feel bad for him that we didn't get the job done. Someone's got to win. Someone's got to finish second. Someone's got to finish third. So it wasn't our week.

Q. It does seem like you have a lot of family here. What does that support mean to you?

JASON CARON: Listen, it's amazing. A lot of them are family, friends. We don't even consider them friends as much as they are family. They've supported me all year, last year too. They've come out, they have a good time when we come out. We rent houses sometimes and have a really good time.

Out there having that support is huge when you're not playing well. Then when you're playing well, it's even better because you can really hear them. I love all these guys. Hopefully we'll continue this.

Q. Talk a little about Team USA, kind of that camaraderie and having that team event versus playing as an individual.

JASON CARON: Yeah, we don't do it in golf. It's a lot different. When I was playing with Stewart, it was to comforting standing over a shot knowing I got him to lean on, which is pretty good.

It's just a little -- it's a little bit different that way. You can play a little more aggressive or conservative depending on who's got the hot hand. We kind of mixed it up between the two of us, and then in the room and dinners and this and that, it's just really neat to be around all the wives, the players, the caddies, the caddies' wives, the families showed up for a couple dinners.

I mean, it doesn't get much better than to be on a team that everybody wants to be a part of. I sure did want to be here, and I'm just happy I was able to do it.
