THE MODERATOR: First time here at this course, first round. What were you seeing after the first round?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I would have liked to have been a little sharper today. Got off to a good start, but I kind of struggled from then on. Just overall hope to be a little sharper tomorrow.
Q. When you haven't played a course two or three days of practice does that get you to know it like you want to or still going to take time?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I think it gives you enough information. I think a golf course like this there's, this golf course is I don't want to say straightforward, but most of it is in front of you. You can see what you need to do and there's not a ton of like strategy, I don't know if that's the right word. There's not a ton of decisions off the tee. There's some lines and stuff and maybe some areas you can play from if you're not playing your best, but outside of that it's like you can definitely learn enough from a couple of days.
Q. What did you feel like you need to be sharper in your game?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I just wasn't capitalizing on a lot of stuff today. Felt like I could have holed a few more putts. Couple more fairways. Felt like when I got a touch off I wasn't able to get it back and didn't really steal any shots today. It was kind of more just like shot a bit higher than I felt I should have.
Q. Early, did everything feel in sync and then something came off, or were you playing well despite being off?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I don't understand the question.
Q. You got to 3-under, 4-under maybe.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: 3-under.
Q. Things were going well then. And then you spun the wheels. Did something change at that point?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Not really. I holed a nice putt on 2. Nice putt on 3. Another good putt there on 5. Outside of that I didn't really hole much. I put myself in some position, obviously I would like to get a few more looks, but the ones I had I didn't really hole today either. Outside of a nice par putt on 14 or 15, didn't really hole a ton after the first few holes.
Q. Away from this, the news coming fast and furious this week about LIV golfers and LIV in general. We have seen Brooks, seen Patrick Reed is on his way back. What are your feelings on these pathways back? Some believe just let 'em in, some believe there needs to be some kind of penalty, where do you stand?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I just got off the golf course. I don't know what you want from me. (Laughing).
