T. FRITZ/C. Norrie

6-3, 7-6

Q. This late-season surge continues. Cameron has been one of best in form. You had to play your very best out there today.

TAYLOR FRITZ: Yeah, I played incredibly well, and just a lot of pressure situations I kind of got through, played really well. Lots of 15-30s on my serve, 30-Alls. He's in so many games, and he really makes you come up with a lot. Fortunately for me, I was playing well and I came up with the shots I needed to kind of keep myself in the match.

Q. Indian Wells, St. Petersburg, now here. What has clicked for you at the end of this year?

TAYLOR FRITZ: Definitely just my aggressive mindset, how I'm handling situations. I'm not playing important situations scared and tight. I'm trusting my forehand as a weapon. I'm just attacking it and trusting it. My forehand really has become such a weapon that I can rely on.

Q. Your reward is a third meeting against the World No. 1 this year.

TAYLOR FRITZ: Yes.

Q. How exciting a prospect is that?

TAYLOR FRITZ: I mean, it's going to be a tough one. You know, third time this year. I felt like the first two this year have been pretty close matches, and obviously playing my best tennis, so I think if there was a time, it would be now that I can really push him.
