THE MODERATOR: Straight to questions.
Q. I'd like to have a review of your match. At the beginning maybe you were a bit nervous, then you managed to come back.
HOLGER RUNE: Yeah, I've always lost the first set when I played Jannik. I was not so stressed about it because I know I can fight back.
But obviously he played very free. This match, he had absolutely nothing to lose. That probably put down his nerves a little bit. Who knows.
But yeah, again, there was obviously a lot of pressure on me in this match. I tried to handle it as well as I could. I was close, but not enough.
Q. Against Novak and Jannik, two similar losses in the final set. What didn't you have in the final points of the two matches?
HOLGER RUNE: Yeah, the difference is I didn't take my break point opportunity.
Q. It's not easy to think to the future, but this was just your first participation in the ATP Finals. The year that Jannik had could be encouraging also for you. We know what you can do. It's just about time, I think.
HOLGER RUNE: Thank you. Yeah, I'm trying to do as good as I can every day. I had a good season. When you finish in the top eight, you can be proud of yourself.
I think that I could have done some things better this year - actually, a lot of things. That's how it is. It's a learning process. Next year I'm going to try to learn from this year.
It was actually my first I think full year on the tour. Even last year I played one challenger. It's a good experience to be at this level.
Q. Any loss is obviously disappointing. Considering the situation, what you've achieved, is this a loss that will sit with you for a few days or something you'll be able to get over soon?
HOLGER RUNE: Who knows. We'll see the next days. I'm going to try to get over it as fast as possible. Obviously there's no more matches this season. It's finished. It's done. There's no need to worry about anything.
I wish the rest of the players good luck at this event. It's going to be exciting to see who is going to lift the trophy. Obviously there is Novak, is still the favorite, I would say. Jannik, Daniil, whoever qualifies as the second from the other group, is going to have a good chance.
It's going to be good to see. I'm just going to take some rest and start my pre-season.
