H. HURKACZ/D. Medvedev
7-6, 6-3
THE MODERATOR: Well done, singles and doubles today. What was the key in the match against Daniil today, do you think?
HUBERT HURKACZ: I mean, definitely I was returning pretty well. I was making a lot of shots. I was also serving good. Obviously need to play your best game against Daniil. I mean, he's such a great player, such a great competitor. So it's always super-tough battle.
THE MODERATOR: Questions?
Q. He was struggling physically by the end of that match. How were you feeling with the conditions and the heat and everything? How much of a factor was that?
HUBERT HURKACZ: Yeah, I mean, definitely, I mean, I spend a lot of time here in Florida so I'm used to those kind of conditions, so I think that definitely helped and to maybe play a little bit of part in that match.
Q. Your record in Florida is pretty amazing, winning Delray, winning here, doing well here again this year. How much do you feel at home at these tournaments?
HUBERT HURKACZ: Yeah, I mean, love the atmosphere here. I don't know. Just feels so good and playing my good tennis here.
Definitely, you know, enjoy the full crowds here this year.
Q. You sliced to his backhand a lot. Was that part of your game plan?
HUBERT HURKACZ: A little bit, a little bit (smiling).
Q. Daniil was saying that he is taken by surprise by you each time you play him, that you seem to maybe go up yet another notch when you face him. He looks back at videos of your other matches, and you haven't played as well as when you have played him. Is that fair?
HUBERT HURKACZ: Yeah, I mean, definitely with my coach, C.B., we are watching the video also so we're trying to figure things out. They are doing the same. So, you know, it's kind of a battle there (smiling).
Q. On the doubles, did John Isner ask you to partner or was it the other way around?
HUBERT HURKACZ: I think it was like kind of both ways for the coach, so he was asking me, I was asking him. That's kind of how it synced up.
