Press Conference

Y. NISHIOKA/F. Delbonis

6-3, 3-6, 7-6

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Talk a little bit about the breaker and how you were able to pull that off.

YOSHIHITO NISHIOKA: Well, he had so many chances to beat me today. So, you know, 5-4 service, 6-5 service. So I thought maybe it's over or something, but, you know, we both had chances, but he had chances until before the tiebreaker. But when we starting play tiebreaker, in this year I playing tiebreakers so well. I think I lost only few and winning like almost everything, so I have very confidence on tiebreaker.

So, you know, the beginning he missing couple easy shots, and then, you know, I read starting the beginning of tiebreaker, and, okay, now I have to play more aggressive, you know.

You know, still my wrist not my best, so my backhand I feel not perfect, but I have to play very aggressive. So on tiebreaker, 3-1, I went to the net, you know, played really aggressive and put on pressure. Then he miss a backhand. Then that time, okay, now I have to keep playing like this, you know, on tiebreaker.

Then 2-4, his second serve, I hit a return winner. A little bit scary to play that, but I was thinking I have to go, you know. Just if I miss, that's okay, I just keep just trying to do. Then it was work.

So on tiebreaker, I play more aggressive than him. That's very important and that's why I think I won tiebreaker today.
