Q. Can you talk about your game today?
DENIS SHAPOVALOV: Yeah, definitely very happy to get the win. Obviously Thanasi's a great player, so it means a lot to put Canada on the board.
Yeah, definitely very happy with my performance today. Obviously had a long one against Sonego yesterday and was struggling with my back a little bit. So huge credit to the medical staff for putting me back in shape. Yeah, there was a lot of doubts if I'd be ready to play today. Was really amazing to play pain-free today.
Q. Coming back from two losses, obviously must have felt a little bit of pressure today to win for the team. How did it feel?
DENIS SHAPOVALOV: Yeah, for sure definitely happy to get a singles win for the team. You know, I felt close the last two matches. The games have been good, but just wasn't able to get over the finish line.
It definitely means a lot to put Canada on the board. I think it's obviously a much-needed one today, and hopefully Felix can close it out for us. If not, we have three guys that are ready to go for doubles.
