THE MODERATOR: We will begin with questions in English.
Q. Ms. Shvedova, why didn't Elena Rybakina step on the court today?
CAPTAIN YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA: We used our secret weapons today (smiling).
Q. So you keep it a secret again?
CAPTAIN YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA: We'll see tomorrow.
Q. It's an option that she could play?
CAPTAIN YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA: Anything can happen (smiling).
Q. Could you talk through the day from your perspective, where you felt the matches were won and lost? Your assessment going into tomorrow.
CAPTAIN YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA: I think we had a good day, good performance from the girls. It was very close. We could have win it, as well. It was just a matter of a couple of points' difference, but I'm proud of the girls.
Anna performed well, and it just a little bit didn't go her way. Yulia was on fire, as usual. They both came not favorite against very strong doubles team and gave them a good battle.
We will prepare for tomorrow, and hopefully it will go our way tomorrow.
Q. Another one about Elena. I think she said yesterday that she's got a bit of a back injury coming from Cancun. Can you tell us a bit more about that.
CAPTAIN YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA: Yeah, the facility and everything, like, what happened in Cancun, I think everyone knows already, like, how they prepared everything and what was going on in there. It was not in a good way for the players, and a lot of players came injured and unwell after that tournament.
So she's one of the few players who was struggling after the tournament and having some issues in her back. Hopefully it will heal soon, and she'll be on track again and even better.
Q. Maybe for Yulia. You're playing Slovenia tomorrow. How well to you know Slovenian girls?
YULIA PUTINTSEVA: I have played with both of them, so I know what to expect. Yeah, it's going to be a tough battle.
