THE MODERATOR: We will start the press conference with English questions.
Q. Unlucky with the result today, but how do you assess that performance? You ran her very close in that match.
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Yeah, the match was, like, super close, but she was serving really good the whole match, really consistent on the serve, and I couldn't find any rhythm on my returns. So always on the big points she played a really good serve to my forehand or to my body.
I mean, in the rallies I think I was a bit better than her, but she did the important points and moments better than me.
Q. You said obviously she was serving well, but every service game you were putting a lot of pressure on her. Was that part of your game plan? How did you kind of approach the match to make sure you were being aggressive at every point?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Yeah, I mean, with the return, she put a lot of kick and a lot of slice to the serve, so I just had to take it super early, because then it was, like, I had it behind my body, and that was my plan to get to the rhythm.
Q. Do you think she was maybe surprised to be playing against you? I just wonder, because there were so many options of who could have been playing her.
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: I mean, we have been preparing for Peyton Stearns. We thought she was going to play, but then they changed the nomination or something.
But I just wanted to play the same, I mean, to her. I thought her forehand was a bit worse, especially in the, like, long rallies. Good slice, and the serve was really tough for me to return.
