6-2, 6-1
Team Slovakia - 0
Team Italy - 2
THE MODERATOR: We will start our press conference with Team Slovakia. Questions in English.
Q. Congratulations. Since the beginning of the tournament, you were the giant killer. You have beaten the USA, Australia. What did you lack this evening to beat Italy and to claim the title?
CAPTAIN MATEJ LIPTAK: Every match is different. I can just say I compliment and respect to Italy and team. I think they really played good, good matches today, and they were better.
I think maybe in the first match we had more chances to have or to take the point. Jasmine was playing unbelievable after when she was maybe fired up with leading 1-0 for the team.
Yeah, they deserve it. They played very good matches also before, like, us. We are sad today, but for sure before the tournament we will be happy with what happened to Slovak country now. We can just say we are sad now but very happy for the future with this result.
Q. Congratulations on your tournament. Rebecca, you seemed to be struggling a little bit physically at the end of your match. Something perhaps with your leg. Can you fill us in on what was going on?
REBECCA SRAMKOVA: I felt good the whole match. I'm not injured.
Q. Viktoria, I wonder, what will you take away from this week? It's been such an incredible run for you all. What are the positives you'll take, even though it's kind of fresh right now?
VIKTORIA HRUNCAKOVA: Yeah, I mean, as the captain said, for now, these emotions are a little bit sad, but I think we need to look at the whole thing, the whole picture, and what we did here. It's absolutely amazing, and I think we need couple hours, maybe couple days to actually realize it.
We all gonna realize that this was something before the tournament, if someone would tell this to us, we would be thrilled. I think it's a lot of positive things we're gonna realize in a little bit.
Q. Similar question for Rebecca. I wonder, the overall tournament, what it does for your confidence and just where you feel the level you can play at going into next year?
REBECCA SRAMKOVA: I feel so sad now (smiling). Disappointed, but all the respect to them, what they did, what they played.
Maybe, as Vika said, maybe in a few days we will enjoy that we are second and take something to the future from those matches.
