B. ANDREESCU/J. Teichmann
6-2, 6-4
Q. Well, Bianca, finally your debut here in Mexico. You talk a lot about the altitude that plays in favor with you with your playing style. Overall playing well in front of the crowd. How do you feel?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: It's amazing. The crowd is very supportive. I feel like I'm very special here, which is a great feeling.
Yeah, I really like the altitude. I feel like my ball travels a bit faster, and I have a lot of rotation on my ball so that also helps.
Q. You know, the last month has been maybe tough for you because of all the injuries, but we've seen you in great shape lately. Do you feel like you can do great things in this tournament and in Mexico?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I'm very excited. I feel very confident in my training and in my mental preparation as well. I think that's very important. Physically too.
Yeah, hopefully I can do well and maybe win the tournament.
Q. Do you find a difference between the balls from last week and balls from this week being different? How long did it take to get used to them?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: Yeah, the balls are very different. I didn't really like the balls from San Diego, to be honest. I prefer the balls here.
I didn't feel like it took me that long to get used to the altitude and the balls, to be honest, which everyone said it was going to take you a few days. Honestly, right off the bat I felt really good.
Q. The confidence of winning and maybe with that scoring, a few sets, only two sets, did it help you to recoup from the second round?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I think so, yeah. It's very rare that I win in an hour and 20 minutes, I think it was.
So having a match like this is definitely great for my confidence.
Q. It was such a great match. You had a lot of support. There would have been some Canadian flags. How do you feel with that? A lot of people supporting here. It's not your country.
BIANCA ANDREESCU: Yeah, definitely. It's really nice to have supporters from all around the world. Especially Canadians coming down and watching tennis is always amazing, so I feel very special.
Q. Something else I do have to ask. Did you bring Coco with you?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I got that question a lot, but no, not this week. Next time.
Q. You'll be missing her?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: Yeah, I miss her so much (laughing).
Q. Your next opponent, we talked about that...
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I already know. They told me right after I got off the court.
Q. It will either be Kvitova, who you've never faced, or Bernarda Pera, who you have. I don't know if you remember a two-week period...
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I do.
Q. Intense drama in Santa Margherita. What do you remember about that?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: Those matches were intense. She's a great player. I mean, that was a while ago, so I feel like we both improved tremendously. It's nice to see both of us on tour at the same time. But I know that she's a great player, and also Petra is amazing.
Yeah, I'm going to watch the match after this. Hopefully I'll do well tomorrow or Wednesday.
Q. We checked your Instagram. We checked that you have a book that is called 'Got Game'. We want to know if you really got game?
BIANCA ANDREESCU: I think I got game. I hope that I can continue the momentum from this match and hopefully bring that game throughout the whole tournament.
