S. STEPHENS/L. Fruhvirtova
6-0, 6-2
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Did you expect something more of this match, this opponent?
SLOANE STEPHENS: You never know what to expect when you are playing somebody new, somebody you have never played before. Obviously, she's very young, so not that much experience on tour.
I knew that I had to come out and play my game and stay positive the whole time, and that's what I did.
Q. How do you feel this time about the high altitude of Guadalajara? You're used to it?
SLOANE STEPHENS: Yeah, yeah, it's okay. Obviously, playing here in February, so I'm used to it. It's not too bad.
Obviously, it's difficult for everybody when you are coming on the first days and practicing. But the conditions are the same for everyone, so you just have to play and do your best.
Q. The fact that you already have played here before is an advantage for other players that they are not used to play at this time?
SLOANE STEPHENS: Different players' games suit the altitude differently and better. Obviously, because I was here in February, I have a little more experience. Other than that, it's just kind of how people adjust. Some players' games suits altitude well, so just have to kind of go with it.
Q. Can you talk about your next match, please? Your thoughts going into the next round?
SLOANE STEPHENS: Obviously, I play the winner of the match that's still playing now. It will be a good match against whoever opponent I play, whichever opponent I play.
Q. Is it the kind of thing your coach scouts, or you have been around long enough to know how they play?
SLOANE STEPHENS: Obviously, familiar with both of their games, but I'm sure my coach will watch and see what's going on.
Obviously, at altitude everybody plays a little bit different, so it will be good to get out there and see what's going on. Obviously, they are playing a good match. So it will be interesting to see what they're both doing.
