Q. You won your first Grand Slam at 19 years old. Do you feel a different type of pressure? Are you relieved or do you feel pressure to win even more?
MIRRA ANDREEVA: I don't think for now I don't feel pressure in that kind of way. I feel like I know how to kind of navigate my thoughts and the pressure on the tournament that I have to play.
Now I'm just feeling nervous before the matches that I have to play, like usual. Just before every match, I'm always nervous before an opponent. Those are kind of, like, usual nerves.
I think that now, I don't know, Grand Slam season let's say is over. For now I don't think about that, so I don't feel any pressure in that way.
Q. The first set was probably frustrating for you. In the past that maybe would have led to a defeat. Today it didn't. How were you able to reset with a very frustrating first set?
MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, it was frustrating. Just doesn't have anything to do with her, of course. It's more with the way I was playing. I was just not happy with the way things were going. I felt like there is a lot more stuff that I could do on the court that I was not able to do.
I guess just with that anger at myself, I'm happy that I was able to navigate that anger kind of into the game, into the match, not going down even more on myself.
I'm just happy I was able to turn things around.
Q. The support of the coaching team?
MIRRA ANDREEVA: The what?
Q. The support of the coaching team.
MIRRA ANDREEVA: Of course, my team is always there in the corner. Of course, support, they kind of have to give me the support, I want to say (smiling). I don't know, it feels great because they're in my team, so they have to support me.
Q. What particularly do you think you took advantage of that you saw in the first set that you wanted to switch in the second and third set?
MIRRA ANDREEVA: I felt like in the first set she was the one playing more aggressive than me. I felt like she was the one maybe dominating a little bit more. That's why I struggled to be the one winning and leading in the score. Even though I had a lot of opportunities to hold my serve, break her back, I was not able to do that.
I felt like in the second set and the third set, my goal was to not let her be the one dominating, take advantage before her. I felt like I did that well. Happy that I was thinking about that in order to change things.
Q. How can you adjust yourself so quickly after the first set?
MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, I guess the thing that she went to the toilet maybe helped a little bit because I had more time. I don't know. I was just thinking of how I really don't want to lose the first match that I play here because I love to play in Beijing and I really wanted to play for a longer period of time.
I don't know, just kind of I guess found the right motivation.
