Jasmine Paolini

Press Conference

J. PAOLINI/T. Maria

6-2, 6-3

THE MODERATOR: Congratulations. You're through to the third round. How do you feel after that?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Of course I'm feeling good. I think I played a really good match today, really solid. Yeah, I'm happy with my performance.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. Can you talk about what it means to be through to the third round of a major for the first time in your career?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Finally (smiling). Yeah, I think it's really, really good for me. I never did a third round, so it was, like, kind of important match, you know.

I knew I had the opportunity to win today, but it wasn't easy because a lot of wind, you know, and I lost with her last time in Indian Wells. So it was a tough match, but I think I played really well, yeah.

Q. Can you talk about your next match at all? It will either be Rybakina or Blinkova who you've played both a few times.

JASMINE PAOLINI: Yeah. Yeah, I know them, of course. Elena, she serve very well, she's playing really good. So if she wins, it's going to be of course tough.

Last time, as well, I played with Blinkova in the final in Cluj, I lost. She was playing very good.

I mean, it's going to be tough, of course. Third round, there are not easy matches, you know.

Q. Can you talk about your goals for this season?

JASMINE PAOLINI: My goal for the season is to try to improve my game, to keep this level, you know, and yeah, to try to be, you know, competitive at this stage. Yeah.

Q. Anything about the Olympics, or...

JASMINE PAOLINI: Of course, the Olympics, I wish I'm gonna there. It's a huge event. I already played in Tokyo. Yeah, I'm looking forward to play in Paris as well.

Q. Will you play mixed doubles there?

JASMINE PAOLINI: I don't know still. But it would be nice to play mixed doubles, of course.

Q. Is there anything you'd like to do off the court? I know Jannik goes to the Formula 1 and the soccer. Do you have any sport you like or anything else?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Not really, but maybe I would like to go one time to the soccer game. I have never been. So yeah, I wish one time in San Siro, because my father and my brother are cheering for Milan, so me too (smiling).
