R. JAMRICHOVA/E. Jones
6-4, 6-1
THE MODERATOR: Renata, congratulations. The long list of finals we have today. You're the first champion on Saturday. How does that make you feel?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Oh, I'm just so happy right now. I still don't think -- I don't know. I was just in the match. I played my best this week. At first I started really nervous because of the crowd and of the Rod Laver, but then I just told myself, Just be happy on the court and enjoy every point. Just be happy that you can stay here and play this amazing match. Yeah.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. Can you talk about your first Australian Open memory, maybe watching as a kid? Do you remember who was playing?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: I've watched Federer, for sure, playing so many Australian Opens. I want to be there one day and play the same level as him, which I'm okay now that I'm not gonna achieve that level as him (smiling). But I'm still happy that I actually played on the same court as him. That's really cool, yeah.
Q. What are your goals for the year? You'll still continue to play juniors? I think you made your WTA debut in November.
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Yeah, this year I'll play the slams. I don't know about US Open but I want to play French and Wimby. But other than that, just ITF, like woman tour, yeah.
Q. Congratulations. Well done. On the TV screens about five minutes before you came onto the court, they showed you and Emerson in the tunnel and you stood next to each other and laughing and pointing at the TV. Normally with the senior players they focus on themselves. You both seemed to be enjoying yourselves beforehand.
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Yeah, I think just such a great experience for both of us to play that final. We've never played a Grand Slam final, so for both of us it was just, we did it, we are in the final, and we can just enjoy the match and just play. Yeah.
Q. You said on court that you have three younger sisters.
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Two.
Q. Two. Have you spoken to them or are they sleeping at the moment?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: I think they are sleeping, but they are going to school at 8:00 in the morning, so when they wake up they'll find out from my parents, because they are watching (smiling).
Q. Do you feel you've improved your game much this week?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: I don't think so. I just played. I was in the moment in the matches, like, the tough scores. I don't know. It was 4-All or 5-All, I don't know, some deuce points, I just played well in that moments. Like overall my game, it was same as last week, I think.
Q. Have you got a relationship with any of the other Slovakian players? Do you know Daniela Hantuchova well?
RENATA JAMRICHOVA: Yeah, back in Slovakia I'm practicing with her sometimes because she's still playing tennis. That is so nice. Yeah, we practice together sometime.
Also when we have Billie Jean King Cup home. Also Magdalena Rybarikova is coming. Cepelova. So yeah.
