J. SINNER/M. Ymer

6-1, 7-5, 6-3

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Your surname is Sinner, but some of your fans think you're a saint because you look like an angel. Do you think you play your best tennis when you're calm and relaxed like a saint or when you're fired up with a bit of devil like a sinner?

JANNIK SINNER: (Laughter.) Oh, man. Well, that's a question, I would say.

Well, obviously, you know, today it was not easy. I have lost against him the last time we played. He's very, very solid. I mean, today I started well. Then in the second set he was very, very solid. You know, tough to go through him, because he's moving very well. Physically very, very good. You know, I was expecting a tough match, a long match. I think today three sets, but it was long.

You know, somehow trying to stay calm, trying to, you know, adapt in every situation. I think today I have done that well, so I'm very happy about today.

Q. Lorenzo said before that he was proud of you last year when you played against Nadal and you were the only person who had a set point against him. So what do you say about this time's match against Rafa, and what do you say about the success of Lorenzo?

JANNIK SINNER: Well, first of all, you know, Lorenzo, you know, I think he's an incredible player. You know, very already, he can do whatever he wants with the ball. You know, he has so many options.

He has, you know, that I think he has already many, many -- he played already many, many matches, and I would say more than me, for sure, because, you know, he has the junior events. So he knows the situations of matches very, very well, I would say.

Obviously, you know, that what he is showing, you know, he's showing that he can play very, very good tennis, you know. Obviously I can congrats him, obviously, wishing him good luck. Both of us now has big, big opponents. He plays against Novak, I play against, I don't know yet, they still have to finish the match. You never know. But most likely Rafa.

So, you know, it's in one way tough, tough to play against them. In the other way, I think it's good that we play against them. You know, I think it's in one way a good test. In the other way it's I have played twice already against Rafa. So, you know, this time is going to be a little bit different.

But, you know, talking about Lorenzo, you know, many, many people speaking who is better for me and Lorenzo, I think it's great to see, you know, especially for Italian fans. You know, we have two different styles of players, two different personalities on court and off court.

And, yeah, that what I think he's talented, very, very talented, I would say, you know, and maybe more than me. Physically is very, very strong. As I said, you know, with the ball, he can do whatever he wants. He has more options than me.

So, no, it's great, you know, to see that he's coming up, you know, that he's winning some matches.

Q. When you mentioned you have different styles to Lorenzo, you're also different to Matteo as well and the other Italian players. What is it about the Italian coaching system that allows different styles to play this? Doesn't seem there is one way to play in Italy, for example.

JANNIK SINNER: Well, you know, it's that what I always say, we have now many, many Italians, and everyone is playing in different ways. You know, first of all I think, you know, you have to see physically how someone is.

You know, Matteo is very big. You know, he has big serve, big forehand. Lorenzo physically very, very strong, as I said. He can do, you know, he has so, so many options on court. You know, me, I'm maybe a little bit higher than him. So I'm playing always trying to win the point, trying to go for shots sometimes.

You know, talking about other Italians, you know, Mager, which I played, you know, a very, very good player, huge serve, I would say, and good mover on court.

But, you know, I don't want to forget anyone. You know, we can stay here one hour speaking about every Italian player. You know, I think it's good to see that everyone is here, you know. Yeah.

Q. You also mentioned the differences in your personality with Lorenzo a little bit. I'm just curious what you think about that? Is it sort of interesting to see how he's maybe a little bit more, not in a bad way but maybe more emotional on the court, you're sort of more, I don't want to say more focused, but you don't show your emotions as much, is that sort of interesting to you?

JANNIK SINNER: You know, I would not say -- in one way for sure, you know, interesting, because, you know, I think, you know, we are made different. You know, we come from, first of all, other parts of Italy. You know, when I have people around me who are doing one thing, you know, he has people around him who maybe thinking other things.

So, you know, I think the important thing is, you know, that everyone, you know, is different. He is different than me, I would say. But obviously in a very positive way. You know, that what he's showing on court, it's nothing wrong with that. I mean, with the opposite, he's doing the right things at the right moments.

I'm very happy about him what he's doing and wishing him, as I said, good luck for here obviously and obviously for the rest of the season and all the rest.
