Q. BMW PGA is a massive week for many reasons but of course this Mac, the ten-year anniversary since that incredible victory in 2012?
LUKE DONALD: Yeah, I can't believe it's ten years to be honest. But such as time flies, I suppose. But yeah, it's great to be back here. I played every year, and such fond memories. Obviously one of the best moments as an individual came here. 11 years ago in 2011 when I got to No. 1 in the world and celebrating that victory around family and friends that grew up not too far away from here. It's always been a special week for me.
Q. Yesterday you talked at length, I know you'll spend countless hours thinking about The Ryder Cup, but how do you feel knowing it's start being here now?
LUKE DONALD: Yeah, it's all getting very real. It's great to see the points are starting this week and great week for it to start. Excited to see how the guys get going and obviously be playing close attention to players that have played Ryder Cups and players that are kind of on my radar.
Q. Given you have six wild cards, do you feel that makes your life a little bit harder or easier?
LUKE DONALD: A little more pressure on me for the picks but I think this is an amazing opportunity to create the strongest team, especially in-form team. Certainly had some past Ryder Cups where some of the guys maybe didn't play the best the last couple months leading up to it and probably didn't have enough space to pick them.
So having more wild cards gives me a great opportunity to pick the in-form players and create a great, balanced team.
Q. Back to the BMW PGA, tell us your thoughts on why you think the history of Wentworth is so special for the BMW PGA?
LUKE DONALD: This is our Flagship Event. It has a lot of history going back to the World Match Play they played here, all the greats, Seve and Faldo and all those guys, people coming over from the U.S. and even Tiger; the list goes on and on. Obviously that's evolved into what we have now here, the BMW PGA and it's our Flagship Event, and it's a great, strong field. It's one to putt on your resumé.
Q. As a Flagship Event, how important is it to you guys on the DP World Tour?
LUKE DONALD: It's extremely important. Obviously very happy to have Rolex sponsor those. Those are big, elevated events that get strong fields and you know, I'll certainly be a part of a few of those this year.
