Q. That was a battle out there, wasn't it?
SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, it certainly wasn't easy. You know, we knew the forecast but when you're in your hotel room in the morning and the locker room, clear day, and before you play, it's a little easier but then you experience it and get out there, yeah, it's so tricky, obviously hitting shots is tricky with all the gusts but the hardest thing is putting. You get over the ball and you feel like you've got to be so tense to stop everything moving but that's the worst thing you can do when you're trying to putt.
Holed a lot of really good putts from inside five feet today which kept my score respectable.
Q. You must be very pleased?
SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, starting on the back nine, I knew the first four or five holes were going to be okay, downwind, and then I knew we were going to be in for a tough stretch from 15 till 7, 6 being the last of the tough stretch. Yeah, the first was the only hole that I really kind of chucked a couple away, but it's so easily done. So you've got to just get on with it.
Q. You did say yesterday that this was like Scotland but with better weather. Would you like to revise that?
SCOTT JAMIESON: It's windier than Scotland. It was blooming cold today. This isn't what I expected. I knew it was going to be windy but thought it would still be short sleeves.
Q. We're in the gathering darkness now, and it's a real boon for you that you got done tonight and there you are at the top of the leaderboard?
SCOTT JAMIESON: We weren't expected to finish. The front nine was really slow. Make my morning more relaxing than finish, playing one hole. Given my position, I would have had quite a long wait.
Q. Brutal day here at Yas Links?
SCOTT JAMIESON: It's a great test from tee-to-green, if you want to call it a test, at the mercy of whatever gust you might or might not get. You play for some wind sometimes and don't get it, and when your ball defies gravity and goes up slopes at times. Pretty happy with two over par today.
Q. You mentioned the putter; seemed hole some great putts today. Although ball wasn't moving as much on the greens, was it difficult in your stance?
SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, it was difficult. Ball wasn't rolling. Two days, they haven't cut the greens. The ball was oscillating a lot, and I use a line, and you could really see how much your ball is moving. Not just that, you stand, you're a little bit tenser trying to keep your balance. When you're tenser, the back stroke of your putt may not be as smooth as you want it to be. There's a lot of different stuff going on.
