Q. Bogey-free 67 today. You were level par for the first 27 holes of this championship and an 8-under for the last 27. What's the difference in the play?
DYLAN FRITTELLI: I made a few putts and kept hitting the driver really straight. Today was tricky with this wind.
So I knew off the tee I would be saving some shots, being able to hit it straight and get it in play. I think the guys struggled to hit it in the fairway with them firming up and bouncing through and getting in the rough.
It was key to just get it in play off the tee and then made a few putts today. Although the last hole wasn't so pretty. But still, a really good round.
Q. No obvious sign of this sort of form at the end of last year. Did you do anything over the break?
DYLAN FRITTELLI: Yeah, I did absolutely nothing. That was the key. I took three weeks off. Didn't touch a club after Leopard Creek and started up eight, ten days ago. Did some good work in the gym. Played a bit of pai gow. Had some fun.
Came out a bit green. First round was a little bit scrappy. I knew I was playing well. I just didn't get a good score out of it. Not too much of a surprise to me. Mind is in a good space and I'm swinging the driver well which is one of my strengths.
Q. What does it mean to have a chance to win this iconic championship?
DYLAN FRITTELLI: I'm just going to give it a go. Not too many times in your career you have a chance to win tournaments. A lot of guys shy away from that and try and play safe and take their position. But I have the opposite mindset. If I'm close to the lead and have an opportunity, I'm going to go for it and try and be as aggressive as I can.
