Q. 66 yesterday and 69. What's pleased you most about your play over the last couple of days?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: The scores. I played great yesterday. Got off to a slow start. Felt really uncomfortable on the greens and putted really well from like the 10th hole onwards, and then today, kind of carried it on.
Actually felt like I played better yesterday. Today was the day where I felt like I scored well. Gave myself a lot of chances on the back nine. As always, you'd like one more hole when you're playing the last but overall just seems nice to get into a bit of rhythm today and see some putts drop in, and on a day where I think scoring was probably pretty good, it was nice to be one of those.
Q. 14 birdies so far in two rounds, more than any other player in the field. Has the putting been the key?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I gave myself a lot of chances but of course you've got to convert them as well. Probably, like I said, from the 10th hole onwards I think I've putted very, very well over 27 holes there. So having more birdies than the rest is good. Try and keep that going for another 36.
Q. You've come very close in the past, and what does it mean to go into the weekend with another chance to win this championship?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's great. It's always great to be here. No matter what you do in your career, I feel like a chance to win this tournament, it's close to my heart now, this one.
So just looking forward to the weekend. I always feel like it brings out great winners, like great champions, so the ultimate goal is to be one of those. Put my name on the trophy. Halfway there, enjoy that tonight and get ready to go again tomorrow but any time you're in contention and especially at a tournament like this, like the final one of the suspect, it's really, really nice, halfway there.
