Q. 5-under, your thoughts on that round?
BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON: Very happy with it. Did a lot of really good stuff. It was tricky if you start missing fairways out there. So I did a good job of hitting it down the middle a good few times. Had quite a few chances and took advantage of a couple but sort of really happy with the way I'm going about my business on the greens, too. Under par is great any time, anywhere.
Q. You've clearly taken a liking to this course. What is it about it that suits your game?
BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON: It's the first time I've played it, by the way. I'm patient. I hit the shot that the course requires. I try to keep time-out of the bunkers. I didn't successfully do that today but no, I'm just -- like I said, I'm patient. I just enjoy plodding my way around courses and this is one of those that you need to keep it in play in the right areas.
Q. Your playing partner was also moving in the right direction.
BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON: Yeah, Matty played great today, as well. I think we sort of fed off each other a little bit. Made a few birdies there. He made a few on the back nine, and I made one on the last to pip him. It was great.
Q. Have you taken stock of the season going into Sunday?
BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON: Well, last man in, so probably the most grateful to be here. Shout out to Viktor Hovland, thanks very much for pulling out. I'm buzzing to be here and grateful.
I'm a competitor; so don't let it fool you. I'm not here just to make the numbers up. I'm here to compete and I love doing that, too.
Q. How do you reset and what are the goals?
BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON: I didn't reset too much. I played quite nice last week. I just had a sticky first round. I brought what last week was good and brought it here this week and again, I say it all the time but I just enjoy doing it and it's always a little more enjoyable when you shoot 67.
