Q. Your best-ever score with a 7-under 65. Tell us about that from your point of view.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I feel like it was a really good day. I didn't think it was that easy. There are some really good scores out there. I thought there was some really demanding shots on that back nine, and I felt like I got into a really good rhythm. Drove it, like, as good as I've drove it all year. It was a really good driving day.
Yeah, it was a really good score. Like I said, a lot of demanding shots and some pins were tucked away. I made two or three good par saves, which is key.
Q. Your best year in your golfing life: You've won on both tours, leading scorer at the Ryder Cup, World Ranking has improved each of the last three or four years. Is the improvement you're making more physical or mental?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Probably both. I think you just try and continue to improve in every department of the game, and I think for sure, I'm on a really great run at the moment. My results have been really good. But I really think it's consistency of like hard work in all areas, and you know, I'm very lucky with having great information from great people that are around me.
I think, yeah, like we've been chipping away for a long time. We've played very consistently for a long time and now we're just having a great run. Hopefully it's not just a great run and this is how I play golf, but we've got to see what happens in the future.
It's been really, really good. I think always trying to consistently improve day in, day out, no matter how little that step may be, always try and do that. Every now and again, you get lucky and it shows.
Q. You have an academy here and you've encouraged thousands of youngsters to play golf. How satisfying is that?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I think it's something we're all very proud of at the academies. Again, I draw on people that are involved in it. It's been a dream of mine to have academies to bring the game of golf to as many people as possible.
I've lived the elite end of the game for a long time, from a young age. I want to help people strive for their dreams in the game and I want to help people get into the game and see the beauty of it.
I'm very lucky that my name is on it, but I'm also very blessed with the people and the partners that are involved in that and we'll continue to try and grow.
