Q. What's your verdict on today's 68?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, solid and steady. It's been frustrating. I went through a period yesterday, I eagled the second, such a frustrating day. I played so well and not going to say I was dreadful on greens. The results were poor. I just didn't hole anything, and I couldn't get it right yesterday.
Yesterday was a really disappointing and frustrating day for the way that I played, and started off and made a good par save on 1, 2, missed it short, birdie. Lipout on 3. Overall really solid. Best thing to look at, no real mistakes out there.
It's bunched. It's really, really bunched. Just a couple days where I felt like I had to stay really, really patient. I played so much better yesterday than I did today. I didn't feel like I had my game quite today.
Q. Second in 2019 and second in 2023. What would it mean to you to win tomorrow on a venue obviously where you're home and you have an academy?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It means so much. Every individual event has different meanings to you. This one would be very, very special. I'm really happy that I get to go out tomorrow with a chance to win. Happy that I'll get to start the day with that anticipation, with those feelings, with those nerves, and you know, I'll work really hard to make sure or try and make sure that I'm in contention, turn into that back nine and see what we can do there.
Tomorrow will be a great day. I'd really love to play some great golf and give people something to cheer about. It's turned into a very, very special event for me.
And again, talking about frustrations, a couple times, I've been so close to winning this. Yeah, I'd love to be able to stand there at the end of what's been a great season and win another trophy but we'll see. It's amazing how many people are in contention and just how tight and how small the margins are out there.
