Q. Closed out with an excellent round of 5-under par 67. Obviously not week disrupted by illness early on, so the result not what you were looking for. But overall look back at what has been a breakout year for you: Three wins, qualifications for the Masters, The Open, you're off to the PGA TOUR. Describe how you're feeling at the end of this great season.
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, it's been the year of my life. To have won three times and to be in contention as much as I have done, my game has improved so much, and I feel very proud of myself and everyone involved for helping me get to where I am today.
This week obviously was disrupted at the start of the week. On Thursday, I didn't feel great. But as soon as I got off the meds on Friday, I played some really good golf. I'm proud of myself with how I've battled back into the week and finished the year with a decent result.
Q. If it weren't for Rory McIlroy looking to win his seventh Race to Dubai, you were right up against him coming into this week.
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, I played with him on Thursday. He played great on Thursday. It's great to watch him in the flesh at his best.
The guy is so good at everything, and someone that I'll be trying to pick his brain as much as I can moving forward into the future. He's been great with me. I couldn't thank him enough for the time he's given me, and hopefully he lifts the trophy today and keeps me in second place.
Q. Excited to be off to the PGA TOUR, obviously you'll still play in Europe as well but off to the PGA TOUR and the opportunity there?
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing the big events over on that side of the pond. Obviously looking forward to playing in all majors next year and play against the best players in the world like we are this week. The standard is different when you're playing against the best guys.
I will miss it here. I'll miss the players, the staff, just the Tour in general. This is where I've started and a place I'm not going to for get. Hopefully I'll be playing as much as I can back on the DP World Tour when that season is finished. It won't be the last time you see me.
