Quick Quotes

Q. DP World Tour Champion for 2025, your third win in 2025, your third win in this championship, your first win in two years, your second Rolex Series Event. Tell us how good this feels and what it means to you.

MATTHEW FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it means the world. Struggled at the start of this year, obviously, and to turn it around in the summer like I did and have a Ryder Cup like I did, Ryder Cup in particular, feel like it's hard to top given everything.

But the way that I played today, you know, I feel like I really didn't hit one bad shot all day. I'm so proud of myself, the effort that everyone puts in behind the scenes. Yeah, what a feeling. What a feeling.

Q. Eight pars in a row in the middle of round, three behind with six to play. How did you turn it around to shoot 3-under over those last few holes and make that difficult up-and-down at the last to walk away as champion?

MATTHEW FITZPATRICK: I've not been hitting it amazing all week. I kind of hit it really well yesterday, and I would say I hit it really well today. Dan was insisting on being patient all day and just letting the putts come. Like you say, in the middle of the round, nothing was going my way. Managed to roll a couple in and get myself in position.

Q. Your thoughts when Rory is coming up 18. You've got to be thinking he's going to hole this.

MATTHEW FITZPATRICK: Of course you do. He's probably one of the only few that you know you go too a playoff, two year and one to playoff and you know you're going to a playoff. In typical Rory fashion, he did it again, and obviously you never like to see the way it ends. But obviously delighted.

Q. From the middle of 2024 to the middle of 2025, you didn't have a Top-10 for 11 months, is this a win for perseverance?

MATTHEW FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it's a win for everyone, it really is. Dan's gone above and beyond in the effort that he's put in. My performance director, Lou Mackey, has done awesome. Phil Kenyon is amazing. You know, strength coach, Andrew.

Everyone on the team has really, I feel like, has come together, and I couldn't be happier. And obviously in that down period, I had the support of my wife and my friends and family, and to turn it around and be here now is very special.
