Quick Quotes

Q. Great run today, a 65 closed off your first round here at the Horizon Irish Open. Take us through that back nine especially.

JORGE CAMPILLO: Yeah, I played great in the back nine. I hardly missed a shot beside the tee shot on 12, and I was able to make the putts that I had in front of me. So it was a great round, and I played great.

Q. You come into this tournament, of course, with a bit of momentum. You had a great finish at the BMW International, tied 15th there.

JORGE CAMPILLO: Yeah, I've been playing okay all season, making a lot of cuts. But, you know, sometimes it's the driver, sometimes the putter does well, and hopefully this week I can keep playing like this.

Q. You've had at least two top 10s in the Irish Open before. Last year this course wasn't quite so kind to you. What's agreeing with your swing a bit more this year?

JORGE CAMPILLO: Well, it's just that I have two years in a row that I played great here, and it's a great country to come and play golf because of all the people watching. Last year it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, just the golf course plays a little easier, and I didn't see it that easy. So you just try to get the right mindset, I guess, that I can shoot that well here too.

Q. It looks like hopefully as the week goes on, it's going to get a little bit firmer. What kind of drama can we expect to see from the course, especially the back nine?

JORGE CAMPILLO: Well, I don't know if much firmer, but it's just soft greens. If it's not windy, I think it's going to be a low-scoring course. But you still have to get the shots. 18 is a great par-4 to finish. You have to hit two great shots, and it's just a nice course. It's a nice course.
