Q. Tell me about the eagle.
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah it was great actually because it's a tough fairway to hit that No. 8 but hit a good tee shot today. It was a good number for 3-wood, hit 3-wood maybe 20 feet and rolled it in. I missed a couple putts on 6 and 7 and hit a couple putts and just missed.
Q. Your first Irish Open since 2019.
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, it was fantastic. Unbelievable experience. Playing the first two rounds with Shane is something I'll remember forever, and you know, the crowds were fantastic, even today obviously when I wasn't in contention but it was amazing having that kind of support out there and saw Pádraig is going well so hopefully that will be good after for this afternoon having Pádraig and Shane going strong.
Q. How much are you looking forward to teeing it up at St Andrews?
SEAMUS POWER: That's a dream come true, playing an open and playing The Open at St Andrews, you couldn't ask for anymore. I really can't wait. I'll get over there now next Sunday night, Monday morning and I can't wait. I haven't seen it since 2010, so that's going to be a dream come true and that first tee shot is going to be interesting.
Q. A third 68, forget about yesterday, would be a really great tournament.
SEAMUS POWER: That's golf. You try to shoot the best score every day. Obviously it was a lot better today. Got into a better rhythm and got much easier.
Q. Some late birdies as well and you settled in right from the start?
SEAMUS POWER: I did hit some lovely shots at the start. Hit it close on 1 and 2. Was a lot more in control all the way through my game. Felt really nice. Could have been a couple better but that's golf and nice way to get some momentum back.
It was interesting, like I said, played 2-under in find of funny way for the week. It's always nice to get an eagle and it's a good par 5 and I hit the fairway today which is kind of a good start and was able to capitalize.
Q. Wind was a bit different today as well.
SEAMUS POWER: It was.
Q. Quite strong?
SEAMUS POWER: It's slightly more from the north today. I suppose northwest, I think it's been mostly kind of west or south west. It's a little ditch, Simon and I were talking on No. 18, it's going to be a great finishing hole in four or five hours. It's a little stronger as you said and it's more into you on 18. Greens are still soft and you can manage to get it around. It will be a good test.
