Quick Quotes

Q. Third round of 72, not what you were hoping for. Reflect on your round for us.

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I'm disappoint. To be honest I thought the lead was going to be a lot more than it's going to be. Looks like Hurly is going to birdie the last hole and is going to be 13, I thought the leader was going to be at least 15 after today. That's what makes it more frustrating. Felt like I had a great chance to go out there and grab this tournament by the scuff of the neck and I didn't do it.

But I'm still in an okay position that if I go out and shoot a good front nine tomorrow, I'm back in the tournament. It's hard, ten minutes after you finish, finishing 5, 5, 5, it's hard to talk about it. It feels a bit sour now. But I'll chill out this evening and get out there tomorrow and get after it again.

Q. None of the last five groups broke 70. Is that just getting out of position, making it so difficult?

SHANE LOWRY: The pins are pretty difficult, quite close to the edge of the greens. If you hit a good shot, yes, you can get close but you don't need to be much off to be in a bit of a -- to have a bit of a disaster.

Yeah, I don't know, maybe they are just going out there being a bit more aggressive. Not surprising one of them was Rory, and he's going to be the man to beat tomorrow.

Q. Competitive leaderboard, 15 or 20 guys that have a chance to win. How do you approach it tactically?

SHANE LOWRY: Just do what I've been doing. Felt like I was quite scrappy in the middle of the back nine today but felt like I started really well and just didn't really hole out on the front nine and got quite frustrating. Just go ahead and keep trying to hit good shots and keep doing what I did the first two days and the first sort of 12 holes today. Hopefully, like I said, I can go out and shoot a decent front nine and I'm back in the tournament.
