Q. A really solid finish to another great week at the Home of Golf. How pleased are you with today's performance and the golf you produced over the last four days?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I felt like it was kind of, I don't want to say due, you're never due anything. But I felt like I played really well over the first three days and scored really, really poorly. I felt like yesterday was really frustrating. Three days of frustration but also a lot of good stuff.
Today, on what was the hardest day, I got it going a little bit. I hit a couple of iron shots that were great shots but still need a little bit of luck out here today, especially with those pin positions. Things just weren't my way today. I feel better about it now.
Q. You do have a great record at this tournament. What is it about the atmosphere and this week in general that seems to bring out the best in your game?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I like the courses. I haven't won. I'd like to improve on that. I like the courses. I've done it every year and we get on great and it's such a comfortable and fun few days. St Andrews, love playing the Old Course. I think Carnoustie is a great test. And Kingsbarns is a place where I've shot a couple of really good ones, and it's been tricky in the past for me.
I enjoy the tournament. It's nice to have a good record somewhere where you feel pretty confident, in a way, and today was a ground.
Q. What will this result do for your motivation and for your confidence for a strong finish to the season? Still some big events to come on the DP World Tour schedule.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, absolutely. I was playing well last week in France. At Wentworth I was really poor and last week I was playing well. I was gutted I didn't get to the weekend. I felt like I had done some really good work and I was playing well.
I had not qualified for the last event of the year. I guess this week made sure of that, I don't know. That's important, if you want to make it all the way through to there.
It's nice to be rewarded for good golf. It's great feeling like you're doing a lot of things and you can put up a score but if you're not doing, that's the only thing that counts, in a way.
I've got three events left, and for sure, absolutely want to finish as strong as possible. I think every tournament is so important these days. There's always things to play for. Yeah, happy to have had some rewards for hard work and feel like I've been doing well and hope they continue.
