Q. Thorbjørn, how good does it feel to be back in an environment like this?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: It feels great. It's been quite a few years since I played, which was Seve Trophy obviously back then. I have great memories for that. It's one of the best moments, I was very young and just came out and playing that time of format was great fun.
Yeah, I'm really excited to be back playing this. It's fun because we all know each other well on DP World Tour Europe against Great Britain. There's definitely a great rivalry there especially when you know each other so well. I'm obviously looking forward to it, and obviously also having Francesco as a captain this week is amazing. Feel like I know him really well and played Ryder Cup with him and stuff like that. Having him as captain is going to be great fun.
Q. You're one of five Danish players on the Continental Europe team. How is the vibe in the team room having such a close-knit group, and the strength of Danish golf that we always talk about?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, it's just incredible for such a small little country and not really a golf country. I know with the weather and the facilities we have to be able to create so many, I think in the last five to ten years, it's very amazing and it makes us all very proud I think. To be on a team like this and having half the team being Danish, yeah, it's great fun, and like we said, we all know each other really well. But also the other guys that's not Danish, we know them really well.
Yeah, it brings that little bit extra fun for us being in the team together.
Q. It's not just about the golf across the three days. You have all the camaraderie, not just amongst your team but knowing the GB&I guys before the divide goes up. What's it like knowing you're all here for that one common goal as a precursor to the Ryder Cup?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, exactly, we all know each other really, really well. You know, it's all about one goal, right. That's what it's all about. Obviously we're going to compete and we want to beat each other but we also know that this is the start of creating camaraderie in the family like they have done in the past, and just getting to know each other even more, and being on a team, even opponent team, you just know each other in a different way. I've learned that in the past. I think this tournament is really, really important. Like I said, it's something I have great memories of, and I'm sure everybody from after this week is going to know each other a little bit better and also going to have great memories for the rest of their life.
I feel it's really great that this has come back and we're here.
Q. For you personally it's been a really if couple of years, getting your PGA TOUR card, three wins over the last four years and you're obviously in a really good place, and being able to start 2025 so close to home, knowing you have next week and then a run in the States, do you feel more prepared this time around?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, I feel like it's been good. Like you said, the last few years, I feel like I gradually got better and better. It wasn't very good three, four years ago. I needed a lot of work to get back, and I feel like I put in the work and I feel like I'm slowly getting where I want to be. I don't feel like I'm right there yet but I feel like I'm slowly getting there, and yeah, I'm excited for '25, and starting here is just a great way to start, like you said, close to home, and just being in this team environment again for me is, yeah, the best.
Yeah, I'm excited for '25 and especially excited for this week.
