Q. Must be great to be back representing team GB&I again. How much are you looking forward to the week?
MATT WALLACE: Buzzing. Even today, the practise day today was intense and something different and just so good to be here surrounded by amazing golfers with an opportunity to make a Ryder Cup Team.
So there's going to be lads here that make the team, and I'd love to be one of those.
Q. The emotions must be completely different to I guess 12 months ago. You were very vocal about your struggles and we saw the emotion when you holed that winning put in Crans. How are you feeling now?
MATT WALLACE: Yeah, I feel really good. I feel confident and comfortable in my game and comfortable in the position I'm at. Would obviously like to be playing in the Signature Events in America, but I can make my way into those if I get off to a good start this year.
But the main focus is all about the Ryder Cup. So I'm doing everything I can with my team. Everyone know what is I'm trying to achieve. So full focus on that, and right now no time to think about anything else. Nothing about the past. It's all about what we're going to do to make Bethpage.
Q. What was it like when you first arrived on site and saw your name up in lights again and how well the team rooms have been put together?
MATT WALLACE: It's so good. Two years ago, I probably shouldn't have made the team but I remember sending Luke a mentally saying, "Listen, I'll be ready, and I want to be able to show you what I've got." And I think I played okay but obviously didn't play well enough up to the buildup of Rome.
But then making it this time, there wasn't really a question mark over my name to be here and Luke was like, "See you there at the Team Cup," and I'm like absolutely. It's been brilliant. The Tour and Luke and everyone put on such a good show here that it makes you feel like there is a match. There's a big match. They are a great team. We've got a good outfit. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and hope getting some points.
